Types of Boilers

1. Fire-Tube Boilers

  • Description: Hot gases from combustion pass through tubes surrounded by water.
  • Advantages: Compact design, easy to operate, and relatively low cost.
  • Applications: Small to medium industrial plants. Heating buildings (e.g., schools, hospitals). Steam locomotive engines.

2. Water-Tube Boilers

  • Description: Water flows through tubes heated by combustion gases.
  • Advantages: High-pressure and high-temperature capability, suitable for large steam demands.
  • Applications: Power generation in thermal power plants. Industrial process heating. Marine applications.

3. Electric Boilers

  • Description: Use electricity to generate heat for boiling water.
  • Advantages: Energy-efficient, no emissions, and compact.
  • Applications: Small industrial setups. Residential heating. Industries requiring clean energy solutions.

4. Combi Boilers (Combination Boilers)

  • Description: Provide both space heating and hot water without the need for separate storage tanks.
  • Advantages: Space-saving, energy-efficient, and suitable for small spaces.
  • Applications: Residential homes. Small-scale commercial properties.
