Challenges

I am the Health and Safety Officer for a Liquid storage tank terminal in Kandla with over 400 employees. It is a highly dangerous environment as our terminal carries out hazardous liquid chemical loadings either through ISO tanks or by compartment-type road tankers depending upon the nature of the chemical and as required by the customer.

We have observed that during open tanker loading operations, the operator experiences problems due to direct contact with chemical vapor emissions. They often complain about health issues like itching, scratching, and dermatitis while working in such atmospheres repetitively.?
