“My life is going to be over.”
That's what?Outdoor Voices ?Founder?Ty Haney ?thought when her leadership started to get criticized in 2020 at the fitness apparel brand that she founded in 2014.
While Haney eventually left Outdoor Voices, she picked herself back up and threw herself full force into the world of Web3, founding both?Try Your Best ?and?Joggy ?with big plans to change the game for community ownership and the future of marketing.
“Young women need examples where shit goes wrong,” said Haney. “Starting again feels so important if we want more women in particular to continue building, being entrepreneurs, raising money etc.”

Inflation ire. ?The Fed continues to have a challenging time curbing rising prices as year-over-year inflation for last month was 8.2%, higher than expectations. The news sent crypto markets — as well as the wider financial world — spiraling. Bitcoin fell to its lowest prices since December 2020. The Fed meets again on November 2nd.
SEC probes Apes. ?The SEC is now investigating if sales of Bored Ape Yacht Club's collection of NFTs violate federal law. The price of the Ethereum-based ApeCoin (APE) fell nearly 11% off the news. The SEC believes certain high-value NFTs, like BAYC, behave more like stocks and should follow the same disclosure rules.
Optional royalties. ?Solana-based NFT marketplace Magic Eden will now allow buyers to choose how much to pay in royalties.
What’s old, is new. ?The world’s oldest bank, BNY Mellon, just launched a new digital asset custody platform for bitcoin and ether in an attempt to stay competitive with other Wall Street banks now doing the same.
Google’s big crypto move. ?After, in some cases, blocking crypto payments entirely on its platform, Google will start accepting bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments for its cloud services in a partnership with Coinbase.
A game changer for women? ?Meta Chief Business Officer Marne Levin believes the metaverse will benefit women inadvertently who prefer remote jobs, and Meta’s metaverse technology would make remote labor feel less remote.
A deflationary asset. ?For the first time since the merge, ETH has become a deflationary asset, meaning more ether was burned verifying transactions than was created. Some experts believed a drop in supply would increase the value of ETH, but the price has actually fallen.
