Two Years, Three Lessons!

Today marks the 2nd year I’ve been at this job!
Literally, a ride with flabbergasting moments and transformation from being juvenile to a decent professional. Top three lessons, I've learned in the past two years:
1. Appreciate: In the realm of hierarchies and promotions, we hardly commend coworkers for their job, somehow if we do – it’s more like a formality. As it is well said, “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them”. Besides, showing gratitude goes a step further when compared to appreciation mirroring the importance of recognizing positive things in our lives—like a success at work. Acknowledging the thoughts and efforts of people with gratitude shows that those people matter, thereby, creating a cultural environment.
2. Work does not have to be more than work: As per the renowned executive of Yahoo once said, “We are taught that the busier we are, the more successful we’ll be”. Perhaps, very well expressed but sometimes we forget to cherish other things and moments happening in our personal lives as well. Take a moment and try to spot that when was the last time you wrote something for yourself and behaved like nobody is watching (excluding the moment when you were drunk). Steer your efforts to optimize productivity at work and try not to bring any strain in your personal life.
3. Growing is Constant: We are young and energetic, yet reluctant and procrastinators, true indeed – right? Feedbacks and pieces of advice at the office are often considered ambivalent. It would really boost our potential if we channelize those feedbacks and stop assuming that we’ve learned everything. Importantly, no matter how old you get, there is always something new that you can learn and expand your own knowledge and self-awareness of it. Everybody has their own ladders of personal growth to climb, whether it be in business or in just day-to-day life.
To conclude with the evocative words of Leo Tolstoy - One can live magnificently in this world if one knows how to work and how to love.
