Stetson Real Estate was born with a central focus: unsurpassed client service.  To that end, Mary Stetson has set out to recruit, train and mentor a team of agents who can deliver at that caliber while cultivating a culture of innovation and collaboration at Stetson Real Estate. This series will explore the how and why of agent success at Stetson.

SRE Agent Phyllis Lindy launched her real estate career with a deep appreciation for design--she comes from a family of architects--and connection to her community.  With a professional background in sales, marketing, and public relations, she brought the trifecta of qualities to the table: a passion for real estate, a connection with her community, and professional skills to help her stand out.  “Phyllis was able to build an excellent base with advocates,” explains Mary. “She gets out there and understands how to wrap real estate into a social conversation artfully.”

After the initial ramp-up phase in the first year, Mary emphasizes “building” upon the initial excitement, buzz, and motivation.  “Once the foundational skills are set, it’s important to keep building upon them. Skills, habits and attitude must stay on point.”   Along with her commitment to these skills, Phyllis was able to expand her client base and trusted network by building a track record and testimonials.  This has set the stage for what Mary considers a critical part of long term success in real estate: focusing on a niche. “By year two, an agent should start thinking about their niche,” Mary says. Phyllis has been focused on Sound Shore single family homes, and is now venturing into commercial real estate, too.  “Being part of an independent firm has many advantages as a new realtor. SRE has given me so much experience and confidence in such a short time that I'm now ready for my next steps, to forge my own path and partner with others at SRE in both residential and commercial real estate,” sys Phyllis.
