Two Thousand Presentations

My sincere thanks to colleagues in the financial planning community who have referred clients to Looking Glass Studios (LGS) since our establishment in 2010.

Following my retirement as Principal of William Buck Wealth Advisory (Vic) in 2010, an ex colleague working at Bethel Funerals, Mitcham, Victoria requested assistance in the preparation of a photo tribute given the firm was short staffed. She had attended a number of my investment seminars and had been complementary of the Powerpoint presentations. Some twelve years later the 2000th presentation is about to be undertaken by LGS!!

It has indeed been a pleasure to work with so many lovely families over the years in selecting the photos, scanning and fully restoring the items and then backing the production with suitable sound tracks. Wherever possible we attempt to align the photos with the lyrics of the music which adds yet another dimension to the presentation.

Initially the presentations were produced on DVD however today MP4 is the preferred format. Social media and the internet have also had a positive impact with LGS now receiving numerous assignments from both interstate and overseas clients where photos are scanned, remitted via Dropbox to LGS, restored and the completed presentation returned to the family in the same manner.

A recent trend has been requests for the production of "selfies" for those in the 70+ age bracket. Many clients are selecting their preferred photos and sound tracks for their own photo presentation - hopefully to be aired in years to come. These presentations are prepared in both DVD and MP4 format (obviously without specific dates) and retained by the client's family or executor for later use. The presentations can also be updated in the future if required.
