Two things in this world that take no skill

There are two things in this world that take no skill: 1. Spending other people’s money and 2. Dismissing an idea.

I put this connotation in front of the audience every time I present "Idea to IPO" workshop. Dismissing an idea is so easy because it doesn’t involve any work. It’s easy. The hard thing to do is protect it, think about it, let it marinate, explore it, riff on it, and try it. The right idea could start out life as the wrong idea.
During my early childhood when America successfully reached on the moon, there were people who'd talk about it and an old lady would object, "That's certainly not the same moon. Our moon is our God. The moon that we see is so far and away that no one can reach there alive. It's our heavenly adobe."So next time you hear something, or someone, talk about an idea, pitch an idea, or suggest an idea, give it a listening year. Think about it a little bit before pushing back or making your knee-jerk opinion about it, before saying it’s too crazy or it’s too complicated to sound like workable.
