Two Schools Of Thought On Making Your Job Search Faster

Two Schools Of Thought On Making Your Job Search Faster

There are two schools of thought about how to make your 2025 job search faster.

One school of thought is commonly taught by most career resources ... The other school of thought is designed to help job seekers solve job search in a more competitive job market.

Which school of thought are you using to try and accelerate your job search?

1) The school of thought that you're probably using is taught by most career coaches, authors, outplacement firms, used by professional resume writers. It's probably what you've been advised by well-meaning friends, family and mentors. I refer to this school of thought as "Traditional Job Search Strategies".

This school of thought teaches the way to accelerate your job search is to apply to a greater volume of jobs, doing the same thing you've been doing, and hope you get lucky.

2) I teach a school of thought that shows you how to recognize what's not working and change it. I teach how to recognize inefficiencies in your resume, interview and job search strategies. I teach how to sell yourself more effectively in resumes and interviews. I teach strategies with goals of more and higher quality interviews, while avoiding sending high numbers of resumes.

I definitely do not teach you to do more of the things that aren't working, while hoping for different results. It's not based on adding volume, but instead teaches you how to plan your job search (so you don't plan to fail) and how to transform your resume/interviews to stand head-and-shoulders over other candidates.

Because when you're facing a more competitive job market, you need different solutions than easy job searches. This is an even greater issue if you're age 40+, looking for remote positions, seeking raise/promotion, product/job function/career/industry/geographic change, you're unemployed (or at risk of losing your job), trying to turnaround your job search, have a "bouncy" recent career path, industry in decline/consolidation, long term gaps, or family leave - You'll need to do more than other candidates to make your search faster.

Instead, I'll show you how to make your 2025 job search twice as fast.
