Two RPA Traps

Free trial software and low-code are two RPA traps people go into without fully appreciating the strategic direction setting results. RPA is not well served by legacy technology tool evaluation decision trees.
Low-code is perhaps the more insidious of the two. Within an RPA context, it refers to the combination of a higher programming language, some drag and drop functionality and some recorders that automatically generate code from user activities. The result still requires translation of pages of lines of instruction to understand exactly what is meant to happen. This still requires a full software development lifecycle and if you dig enough in the associated product literature, it requires a software development skill set.
No-code is one of two transformation enablers of RPA and related AI. Choose wisely.
