Two Minutes of Hate
I recently read that the best arguments deserve the best counter-arguments. By pressure-testing something, we find out if it's as good as it seems.
Sometimes I ask team members to be harshly critical of something we're doing. To say the worst about it and point out it's flaws. To say the taboo thing... No commitment that action will be taken, just a willingness to hear.
Consider giving others permission to express their concerns without fear. You might be surprised by what you hear.
Go all-in on negativity, but only for 2 minutes. Say it quick! Long-term negativity is destructive.
Apply broadly: Ideas, Processes, Products, & more
