Two great tools to combat desk Job pain!

Well, here we are for edition number 9 of the newsletter! I'm a day late this week! Usually, it's a Tuesday that this goes out! I hope you can forgive me ??


Where did January go? It went super quick for me, how did the first month of the year go for you with your health and fitness?


My clients have made a strong start to 2023 setting themselves some terrific goals!

But, it's always down to consistency to breed any results. I've been using some new software in my business to help measure clients' movement. I always have a good eye for movement, but, showing clients the progress they are making always helps to keep some motivation to continue.

Client news and achievements: James Rogers and James Fowler are two amazing people when it comes to BIG events. We had them as guests on the podcast last week


On next week’s podcast, I have one of my other fantastic clients - Anne Leatherland, who is a vocal coach - she has helped me loads over the last year to improve my voice.


Finally, Tony Lawton is doing the TET - Trans Euro Trail in May. he's had some big injuries over the years. So, this is a nice challenge.


Lets get some value into the newsletter now for you ??

I don’t know about you, but the older I get the more I wake up stiff in the mornings. I could believe that story or I could take the necessary steps to make sure I’m loose and nimble for the day ahead.

It’s true, we are all getting older each day. The body has had it’s use over the years. Yet, there are a couple of recommendations I will give to you today to change the game.

  1. The Foam Roller: Some of my clients absolutely love it and some loathe the roller. But, it’s a great tool and inexpensive for the relief it can give to your body.

Throughout the day we are using our muscles all the time. Each muscle is protected by a thin layer of Fascia tissue.




What is fascia? Fascia is?a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place. The tissue does more than provide internal structure; fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin. When stressed, it tightens up.


Simply spending a few minutes on a roller each day can have tremendous impact on relieving the tension in fascia tissue.


For those that are desk bound for long hours, simple releases with a roller like this one will help you to feel less pain or even eliminate pain in your hips and knees!


I know for some, the roller just isn’t doable. So, a massage gun can give a fairly equal effect.

Massage guns range in prices from £20 up to £500+. You generally get better quality percussion the further you go up the scale. By just having a couple of minutes on the massage gun while you are at your desk will help your achy muscles to feel less achy ??
