Two Dallas walk-in clinics are seeking court action against Google trying to get the names of consumers the clinics claim filed fake reviews online meant to purposely damage their respective business reputations.

The two walk-in clinics—Highland Park Emergency LLC and Preston Hollow Emergency Room LLC—as well as Google have yet to respond to an interview request from Internet Health Management.

Petitioners believe that the reviewers were contracted or hired by a competitor of petitioners to intentionally and fraudulently post the false one-star reviews .

But last week Dallas law firm Dykema Cox Smith filed a 30-page petition in the district court of Dallas County on behalf of the walk-in clinics against Google. The petition asks a Dallas judge to order Google to disclose the contact information and names of 20 individuals that Highland Park and Preston Hollow allege filed bogus one-star negative reviews on Google Reviews. A petition is a formal application made to a court that requests action on a certain matter and often serves to gather information before a lawsuit is filed, according to dictionary.com.law.
