Two Cents, Maybe a Third: Simplicity

Yesterday, I noted in Accountability, Inside Out, that I would be blogging but twice a week for the next 4 months; my personal blog and here on LinkedIn, I also noted, " I will be blogging on LinkedIn on Monday mornings, and here on Friday mornings… starting next week." But, to start that journey, I am creating Two Cents, Maybe a Third which will encompass content akin to the breadth of blogs before, and will be again. This will be a space of character driven thought, every Monday through August 2021. Today and this morning, and amidst my new and needed cleansing and joyful journey around reducing blood sugars and weight, I posted this on Facebook.
- With this new sugar minimal lifestyle... household rebuilt for it... 2 pounds down so far this week. Interesting to me how I am spending less, bringing blood sugars down, and shedding weight. Hmmmm.
And... I stumbled across this Big Think with Penn Jillette yesterday by literal happenstance, no searching. While I am not a follower of Penn per se, I was intrigued by his own admitted uniqueness of approach and discovery. 61 myself, I found it useful. I have no intention of eating only potatoes for two weeks but my diet (in the true sense of the word ... meaning what I eat) has become more simple and I am seeing the results noted above in my Facebook post, economically, ecologically and more. I am spending less, eating less (but higher quality input), consuming less packaging and shedding weight. There is a real and legit synergy happening here; born of Simplicity.
My new journey is making sense, with less craving and consumption. I am re-sensing the spirit of being that Simple Man. And, I like it. Reflect on Simplicity. How and where can you apply it? How and where can you better practice same? Consider your own Essentialism, applied. Get clear on that. Do that. For me, this journey continues and I will be back Monday with another Two Cents, Maybe a Third.
For now, I will give it a rest.

A highly respected expert in Human Resource Management, he expected much of us and he believed much in us. He was an educator and leader of high character. He was extraordinary. To this day and beyond, I try my darnedest to honor his spirit with my own work. That is another story. But I hope I did him service here.
