Its not often that two spies, James Bond and Jonny English (Rowan Atkinson have theri Land Rovers in the same sale. Yet here are two British defenders with their Defenders.
World-famous comic actor, Rowan Atkinson CBE asked Iconic Auctioneers to find him a Land Rover Defender 110 Heritage Edition, specifically for his own use. The company found him this car which was originally supplied new in 2015 to its first owner who covered a nominal mileage over 18 months.
It is now for sale at the Iconic Auctioneers Race Retro Sale on 24th February at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. In 2017,
Nick Whale, Chairman of Iconic Auctioneers, says: “Rowan Atkinson is a well-known petrol head and Land Rover enthusiast, so this vehicle has been cherished and lightly used as part of his personal Collection. Always correctly serviced, maintained and professionally stored, it has now covered just 3,800 miles from new.”

During his ownership the car was fitted with a factory-specification tow bar and electrics as well as factory-spec air conditioning (at a cost of ￡4,278!) and also had a car alarm installed.
When Land Rover finally called time on the Defender to mark the occasion the company launched the final Defender Celebration Series. With three limited editions the most significant of these was the Heritage Edition. Limited to a build of just 400, the last Defender rolled off the production line at 9.15am on 29th January 2016. It was number 2,016,933 Defender built at Solihull and thus became the last true Land Rover, the end of an era.

All the new Heritage Edition Defenders were finished in Grasmere Green with an Alaskan White roof, Heritage-style grill, headlamp surrounds and heavy duty steel wheels. Modern upgrades included a perforated leather steering wheel and gear lever, aluminium trim for the air vents, door handles and door locks,?interior trim finished in Almond Resolve cloth seat facings with the Heritage logo and finally a padded cubby box between the two front seats.

Over its 68 year history that the Defender was in production it was popular with many VIPs and high profile celebrities including the Beatle, Paul McCartney, actor Steve McQueen and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Celebrating the relationship between Land Rover and the James Bond film franchise, JLR’s Special Vehicles Department created this special edition. It coincided with the release of No Time To Die. It is offered directly from the first owner, with the unique registration number NO07 TTD included in the sale and just 700 miles from new. A true collectors example.
