Two Best Career/Industry Change Tips Of 2022

Two Best Career/Industry Change Tips Of 2022

Even in an expanding jobs environment, it's difficult to change career or industry.

It's especially difficult, when there are 10 times more job seekers than advertised jobs, like we see in 2022 (90M+ job seekers competing for 10M advertised positions). While you do see worker shortages for restaurant/bar, low wage hourly, frontline manufacturing production, truck drivers, doctors and nurses, the career white collar positions you seek features massive competition.

But you can still beat 2022s high competition for jobs by making improvements to your resume and job search strategies.

Here are two of the best tips for career/industry change in 2022:

  1. Give Employers A Reason To Take A Risk On You:?Being qualified isn't a strong enough reason for employers to take a risk that you'll be as effective in a new career/industry as someone with current experience in their field. Employers see plenty of qualified candidates, so being qualified is no big deal. Plus, since you're trying to change career or industry, it will be difficult to show that you're more qualified than those with relevant job function and industry experience. You've got to show that you're better than other candidates, by showing employers that you've already solved their key problems, and have a track record of improving performance of the teams/departments/companies you've worked in.
  2. Get There First:?It's nearly impossible to change careers by applying online, because ATSs are designed to screen out candidates who lack job function and/or industry experience. Even if you get through an Applicant Tracking System, it will be difficult to get a hiring manager to give you an interview spot, when your resume describes your old position/industry, rather than the position you seek. The hiring manager forms a picture in their head of the perfect candidate, based on the first few candidates who pop into their mind when thinking about filling that position. If you're applying online, you're too late to make that picture include you.

These are just two tips - I'll show you even more best practices to change your career or industry. I'll teach you these?two best career/industry change tips of 2022, plus more tips on making a successful quick job change.
