Two 11-Year-Olds Put a Bunnings Sizzle to Shame

Two 11-Year-Old Entrepreneurs and Their Epic Fundraiser

I recently volunteered at a school fundraiser and was blown away by the skills of two 11-year-olds. Despite both having a bit of anxiety ( if you follow me, you know we are familiar with this in our house). I have to say, they showed incredible entrepreneurial spirit and organisational skills.

They knew exactly what they needed: sausages, sauce, napkins, and a plan. And boy, did they have a plan! They originally had a team of three, but unfortunately, one member had to drop out. Despite being down a player, they adapted and persevered.

With a bit of parental support to ensure no one got food poisoning or burned, these two young entrepreneurs took charge. They worked out what role each had, as they were competing with some seriously good pancakes, fruit cups, and slushies, and they stuck to their original plan.

As a leadership coach, I was amazed by their ability to think strategically, delegate tasks, and manage a team. They proved that age is just a number and that great leadership can come from anyone, even an 11-year-old. At one point, they even leaned into other groups that had sold out of their products, to support the sizzle. All proceeds went to Vinnies Victoria.

So, next time you're feeling overwhelmed by a project or unsure of your abilities, remember these two young entrepreneurs. With a bit of planning, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, you can achieve anything.
