There are lot of websites and online portals (for example meetup.com, Twitter, Craigslist) which were not specifically designed to be used for Recruitment purpose but Recruiters have found smart ways to use those services for recruitment and sourcing.
Twitter is a very interesting tool that can be used for Recruitment very efficiently. Now a days every recruiter use Linkedin to post jobs or source candidates but I have come across lot of fellow Recruiters who does not use Twitter for Recruitment as much as they use Linkedin. Twitter alone is not a very helpful tool when it comes to candidate sourcing or candidate engagement but twitter can work with other applications, using those applications you can make Twitter a very effective and efficient tool for Recruitment.
So what are the ways that we can use Twitter for Recruitment Purpose?
Visibility and content publishing (Job Posting/Job Advertisement): It is very important for a Recruiter to be visible on Twitter (or any other social media), the more visible you are the more your content gets value (Blog or job posting). To get visibility it’s important that you share good content (content is the King). Job posting is something that has to be continuous and automated it saves you lot of time and gives the job posting more visibility.
Analytics: As we all know data is the new natural resource of our era. So it is very important to know how to collect data and make sense out of a set of data (Data Analysis). Your activities on twitter need to be measured and analyzed so that you can understand your audience’s behavior and their reaction towards your postings. There are some applications which will actually allow you to track your activities on twitter, they will automatically generate reports and help you restructure your twitter strategy.
Visibility and content publishing (Job Posting/Job Advertisement)
1. Twibble – A good way to easily publish content from any RSS feed to Twitter with beautiful imagery in each and every tweet. You can automatically publish new content and make it stand out with rich media.
Set any RSS feed to publish automatically to your Twitter feed. Twibble pulls the featured image directly from the article to make sure that your company content stand out to job seekers. Add custom hash tags, choose the timing of your posts and attribute them to different users with this awesome tool.
2. Buffer – Schedule your tweets and analyze their performance
Buffer allows users to schedule post’s sent through the application to the user’s social media accounts. This feature can schedule and send posts to Twitter. There are various default timeslots in the application, which are based on the times during the day when social media users are most active online. However, Buffer does allow its users to mend or remove the default timeslots if they wish to do so . The free version of the application allows a maximum limit of 10 posts to be scheduled at any given time, and only allows the management of one social media account per social media website. Buffer also contains features that give post suggestions to users, and gives information on the number of clicks, retweets, likes, favorites, mentions and potential views each post has, which is based on the number of feeds that single feed would show up on.
3. Hootsuite – Schedule messages to all social accounts from one dashboard.
Hootsuite connects all your social accounts to a central dashboard and lets you schedule messages for future publish. Listen in to what potential candidates are saying about your brand and analyse how well your tweets are being received by your target audience.

4. Tweriod – Post at the best times every day.
Let Tweriod analyze your account and discover what the best time to tweet. Tweriod reports show you daily and hourly windows when you can be sure to connect more effectively with potential applicants. A great tool that you can sync to your Buffer profile to make the most of your social activity.
