Twitter blue tick: Pricing, eligibility, how to get it you need to know

Twitter, under the ownership of Elon Musk, has initiated the process of removing blue verification checkmarks from users who do not possess a subscription to Twitter Blue. Notable figures such as Shah Rukh Khan, MS Dhoni, Roger Federer, and former US President Donald Trump have had their blue checkmarks revoked.

The blue checkmarks on Twitter served the purpose of confirming the authenticity of an account and distinguishing it from fake or impersonated ones. Originally, this feature was primarily available to professionals like journalists, organizations, and government officials. Users could apply for verification to obtain the blue checkmark for their accounts.

However, changes began when Elon Musk assumed control of Twitter. In February 2023, he announced the company's intention to remove the 'legacy checkmarks' from Twitter accounts. Subsequently, in March, Twitter declared that from April 1 onwards, only paid subscribers would retain verified status for their accounts, meaning one must subscribe to Twitter Blue to obtain a blue checkmark.

Below are the details regarding pricing, eligibility, and steps to acquire a blue checkmark on Twitter:
