Twitter Algorithm Explained Simply

Twitter Algorithm Explained Simply

The Twitter Algorithm Explained Simply:

Your Feed is made up of what Twitter calls “relevent tweets”

Relevant tweets are a group of 1500 individual tweets that act as your personal algorthim.

Made From:

  • Accounts you follow
  • Accounts you interact with
  • Accounts that post similar content

Now that you know how tweets are showcased, as a creator this is what you need to know...

There are additional factors that shift the momentum your reach organically has. Some factors help reach more people, some negatively impact you.

Postive Momentum:

  • Retweets: 20x boost
  • Native Images and Videos: 2x boost
  • Verified Blue: undisclosed boost

Negative Momentum:

  • Once Twitter has figured out what type of account you are (your niche), if you post outside of that "cluster" you will have a negative impact
  • Misspelled Words
  • Misinformation
  • Unfollows and Mutes
  • Posting Links to leave the twitter platform

Final Thoughts:

It's important to know that this is what they released to the public about the algorithm, of course there are things we don't know. This information is found on twitter's website via code, the results above are summarizations of what we found *we meaning cicospace and Aaron Knipp.
