Twists and Turns

As a child, I grew up with my maternal Grandmother most of the time. Grandma told me stories of how she met my Grandad while she was 21. She was a Nurse and Midwife, and he was a Chartered Accountant. They had the perfect love story. I mean, they built their lives together and traveled the world from Zurich, Sheffield to New York. Their union was also blessed with beautiful children.??

Growing up, I always desired this young love. I wanted to have the perfect love story. I mean someone I would wake up to in the morning. Someone who was the ying to my yang. I wanted to walk down the aisle at 25 with this person.??

However, I have realized that sometimes, life does not play fair, and we do not always get what we desire. I have tried to do some soul-searching. A couple of times, I have prayed, fasted, and cried about it. So here I am at 30 with doubts about if this desire will be fulfilled. I do not want to think that I am running out of time, but the times are changing, and I am building my own life story day after day.??

Above all, I have learned to fall in love with myself. I mean, waking up in the morning to admire the woman in the mirror. I have learned that loneliness is temporary, and I am my best companion. I have learned that even though life may not give me all I want, I will make the most of where I am now and give my life the beauty, love, and joy that it deserves.??

I hope you do the same too ????.??

Cheers to living your best life????

Oh, Bimbo! As always, thank you for sharing this wonderful piece with us. Your experience and afterthoughts in this regard are both encouraging and hopeful. It's important to state that sometimes in life, things may not go our way, and we must learn to cope with this fact. This truth is reflected in every area of our lives as earthlings. For our well-being, it is good that we still uphold a positive and winning mindset and attitude regardless of the outcomes of our expectations and adventures. We are on different paths, and our timelines differ. While we continue to work, hope, and strive for the best, let us continue to believe that the universe/divine has our best interest at heart. Your moment will come, my friend.
