A Twist on Ask Me Anything: My Year-End Question to Myself

A Twist on Ask Me Anything: My Year-End Question to Myself

Hey there,

Here’s a twist in today’s Ask Me Anything: it’s me asking the question!

As the year winds down, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to lead with authenticity and fulfillment. For leaders—especially women juggling the many demands of life and work—how do we define success on our own terms?

?? How do I measure my own success, beyond titles and accolades? ?? How do I balance ambition with the joy of simply being present in life? ?? How do I stay true to my values, even when the path feels unclear?

This leads me to a really interesting question at the end of this article.

Here’s how I answered the questions:

? Redefine success: Success is not one-size-fits-all. Define it based on your values, not someone else’s checklist. ? Celebrate presence: Leadership isn’t just about doing; it’s about being. Show up fully for the moments that matter. ? Stay grounded in your values: Your values are your compass—let them guide you, even when the path feels uncertain. ? Lead with courage and grace: The most impactful leaders embrace the duality of being both strong and vulnerable.

Leadership, at its heart, is not just what we achieve—it’s how we live, how we love, and how we inspire others.

As the new year approaches, I invite you to join me in answering the question: What do I want to carry forward, and what do I want to leave behind?

Warm regards,

Lorraine

I appreciate this opportunity to reflect and enjoyed reading your insights, Lorraine. What I’m leaving behind: Beliefs and behaviors that restrict my potential, whether in personal or professional settings. What I’m carrying forward: Maintaining practices that support my well-being, like greenhouse gardening, playing piano, and staying active, so I can lead with clarity and energy.
