TwelfthMan isolation inspiration

These unexpected and unpredictable times certainly uncover and amplify personal characteristics. My gratitude goes out to all of our exceptionally brave and hardworking critical workers who find the strength, self-discipline, kindness, pride and ‘get it done’ attitude to do their jobs every day.
Closer to home, I’m impressed by the attitude of my colleagues at TwelfthMan. Throughout my career I’ve been fortunate to have roles that have allowed me to work remotely and manage my time flexibly; that’s not the case for others in the creative industries. Business continues at TwelfthMan and we’ve kept our daily team meetings in place – and upbeat! Unsurprisingly, we have still managed to host 5 o’clock beers on a Friday via the power of video conferencing, and last week we ran our TwelfthMan Extra Time team gathering, including a presentation from a colleague and our usual team awards.
There are some interesting life hacks taking place among our staff too.
One of our art directors, Oliver, has decided to revisit his youth and bought himself an Airfix kit – no doubt looking forward to feeling like a kid again! He's also working on a new puzzle!
The team are drawing, illustrating and 3D printing too, not to mention a few Spanish lessons. Predictably – though no less commendable as a result – finding creative ways to stay fit and healthy is a big theme. Efforts include: HIIT in a quiet corner of Wimbledon Common; learning MMA via an app (sounds terrifying, David); early morning cycling and running courtesy of Lucas; and PE with Joe Wicks, combined with a few abs challenges. Our head of editorial, is running 5K every morning to kick-off his day - good effort Michael.
The results are looking pretty good!
Healthy eating and cooking with family also feature (well done Fernando), while Kat has embarked on a garden makeover (Chelsea Flower Show here we come). I’ve also heard that there’s a lot of decluttering going on in the Reynolds household.
In between re-watching classic sports fixtures Tessanna is painting by numbers (very therapeutic I hear), baking and reading the various books which have been sitting on her shelf for years. Scrabble and poker feature too – perhaps less therapeutic!
The team continue to find creative ways to keep their bodies and minds healthy – staying focused on work and getting through this challenging time with family, friends and colleagues (using digital means, just to be clear).
Keep it up guys. Thank you.
