Tweet It Into Existence

Tweet It Into Existence

Twitter has been one of the most impactful social media apps over the past decade. From spreading important information to fronting social justice movements – the app has been the main medium and tool for numerous important moments in the last 16 years. Most people use the app to engage with their peers but over the years many have begun to see the benefits it has as a networking platform. In 280 characters or less, users can tweet about their thoughts, lives, and even their dreams.

A few weeks ago, Twitter kicked off their Tweet it Into Existence campaign which took us all down memory lane. A range of emotions was shared as billboards of numerous well-known celebrities and athletes began to pop up all across North America.?

This campaign featured old tweets from celebrities who are currently living out their dreams. The campaign's focus is to show how these individuals were able to manifest their dreams and turn them into their realities. In 2018 Simu Liu was starring on a sitcom called Kim’s Convenience when he tweeted out his aspiration to join the Marvel Universe. In 2021 he starred in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and made history as the first Asian superhero protagonist. Celebrities such as Issa Rae, Patrick Mahomes (Go Bengals), Diamond DeShields, Demi Lovato, and Matthew A. Cherry were amongst the people who had their past aspirations broadcasted alongside pictures of their current achievements.

Seeing these stars predict their successes started a trend of people tweeting their goals under?#TweetItIntoExistence. This type of marketing will not only generate more users to join the app but also encourage more people to engage daily. With a lot of these tweets aging nicely, Twitter is also securing long-term users who plan on staying around long enough to see their current tweets age nicely.?

To further support the initiative, Twitter will be donating nearly $1 million to organizations that are in the position to support youth working to achieve their goals. These organizations include Boys and Girls Club, Destination Crenshaw, The 3-D Foundation, and UNICEF Canada.

This campaign serves as a timely reminder to those who have not reached their goals and dreams. Nothing worth doing should be done in a rush. Consistency can take you further than your imagination. The journey may seem distant but every day is one day closer to that goal.?

?The three most important things are to dream big, enjoy the journey, and remember your tweets.
