'Twas a Night of a Startup

'Twas a Night of a Startup

‘Twas the night of our launch, and all through our Slack ,

Not a bug was concerning, nothing our Git tracked;

Email and PR ready, to push with great care,

In hopes that investors would soon also be there;

The team was nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of funding danc’d in their heads,

My cofounder in a hoodie, me in Techstars cap,

We’d settled our brains for the long seed stage ramp

When on our LinkedIn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from TikTok to see what was the matter.

Away from Windows, I flew like a flash,

Tore open my Android and pulled up the app.

The alerts were distracting, sales pitches you know,

Averting my attention, to the spam saying “no;”

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But an unknown VC, and eight Angels dear,

A term sheet proposed, I read the deal quick.

I thought in a moment, ‘this must be a trick.’

As rapid as Wealth Managers, the follow-ups came,

And right to due diligence, seeking concerns to claim:

“Now! Traction, now Team, Now Marketing, Let’s see em!

On Reach, on Growth, on Customers (if you need them);

From your Google Analytics, to your HubSpot account!

Dashboard! Dashboard, your Dashboard pull out.

As consultants from poor startups run so fast they fly,

Like a meetup with cocktails, they start to ask, “Why?”

So to Zoom called the team, they knew what to do,

With a VC and a check – we’ve no time for the loo:

And then it got better, partners appeared *poof*

Anxious to work with us, like a fire on the roof.

As I drew in my head, tough times turning around,

To our landing page, sign-ups came with a bound:

We’d validated markets, our competitors to boot,

We knew people would pay, with bitcoin and loot;

Our prototype live to look for a crack,

And we loved that our audience kept coming back:

Their eyes – how they twinkled! Their dimples so merry,

We’d solved a problem, a new model our cherry,

We’d packaged curriculum for startups to go,

We made it easy for founders to know,

How startups get going without gritted teeth

Instead, building a venture, ready for a round like a wreath.

We built a community, that gelled like fresh jelly

And help one another, on video calls like the telly

Our startup was ready, it was solving a strife

The model was tested it cut costs like a knife;

Don’t rest though the holiday, my cofounder said,?

“When we’re back in the office SXSW is ahead.”

We spoke no more words, but went straight to our work,

Oh, fun we still had, who can pass up a twerk?

So, laying our keyboards aside for a lark,

To you all we pause to share a remark:

We sprung to our blog, Facebook , and yes, Twitter ,

Wishing entrepreneurs well, support, and cash cheddar.

To you all, we exclaim , while we help you start right,

MediaTech Ventures says “good luck,” your idea is alright!?

Always takes longer, always costs more, but when the switch goes off, there is no stopping a truly impacting, sustainable concept that provides the Win-Win- & Win... Very creative...
