'Twas the night before Christmas...
David Skapinker
SaaS, growth, strategy, efficiency, media and communications expert
And final editions had been put to bed,
Telum looked back at our year,
And found some of the best that we read:
We talked to Jonathan Harley,
About all things Twitter,
And found you love to talk politics,
Especially when you’re bitter.
Of big news there was plenty,
And the biggest news of all,
Topping even Lee Lin Chin’s departure,
Was that Fairfax left us all.
New titles were abundant,
Across both print and online,
Proving to us all,
The business of media has still got some shine.
From farmers to Sydney’s east,
To technology and wealth,
The media landscape grew,
ANZ’s media is in good health.
But, over in New Zealand,
Stuff and NZME lost their appeal,
The merger is off the table,
This deal they won’t seal.
Journos writing books was the trend of the year,
Now, DALTON! now, MASSOLA!, now, MORTON, and SALES!
On, ARNOLD! On AYLIFFE! On, COHEN and HALLIWELL!
To the top of the charts! To the front of the shelf!
Now sign away! sign away! sign away all!
The Teacher’s Pet won gold,
Showing true crime podcasting was the topic du jour
In Australia and New Zealand,
We suspect we won’t see fewer.
From all of us at Telum,
Thanks for the news,
If you have anything to tell us,
We’re happy to share your views.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
