Tuscany, glimpes of beauty

Sometimes I take the chance to be a tourist, or I'd better say a traveller, in my own land, Tuscany.

Before focusing on superyachts, I have been dealing with tourism and international promotion of Tuscany for many years, and it might sound complacency to stress its beauty, its powerful heritages, its allure: nevertheless, ?I need to do that now and then.

The last couple of days were unexpectedly surprising, also for a "local" as I am.

Imagine to be a few kilometres from the beach, at the bottom of the hills, in a fantastic old mansion transformed into a bed&breakfast, a stunning estate with a breath-taking view.

In a perfect scenary given by sunflowers spreading all over in the countryside on the way to Torre del Lago, I reached the Grand Open-Air Theatre Giacomo Puccini, where I had the great pleasure to attend the “Tosca” premiere.

Words can’t express the feelings I got, even if it was not the first time for me at the Grand Theatre.

Tosca was enchanting, a fantastic Erika Grimaldi performing the poignant notes of some?of the most famous arias by Giacomo Puccini, Vissi d’Arte of course on top, and giving a special touch to all the stories she performed with her fantastic voice.

More or less in the middle of the third act, around a quarter to midnight, a bright and at the same time shy moon appeared from behind the scenes of the theatre, an orange slice of moon who made the final part of the show really special.

Moon by the lake, music, romance, drama, a magic you can experience every year, during summer time, in this precious little corner of Tuscany.
