Turning the world upside down

Turning the world upside down

There is a video, which just turned my world upside down a few minutes ago. Due to my life-long illness, I face all these fears related to losing sight (mentioned by Isaac) every day, I simply do not talk about it, unless I trust someone or it is really necessary. And today, I am willing to share this part of my life with the public to encourage you to go out from your comfort zone and start reaching out for more, despite any circumstances.

My condition does not make me weak or mentally incapable of achieving and succeeding in my life, business and career. I have learned how to build meaningful connection and relationships with people, I have worked with creative business owners and ambitious professionals. I have earned many rewards along the way and contributed to company growth and development, everywhere where I worked. I have built my self-confidence and self-esteem (much undermined in my childhood and teenage years due to massive glasses on my nose) to be able to go out there and help others achieve the same, or even more. And they do! Either it is in my workplace, in my coaching practice or in my social circles.

Isaac Lidsky speaks about OUR reality: ‘I learned that what we see is not universal truth. It is not objective reality. What we see is a unique, personal, virtual reality that is masterfully constructed by our brain.’ How we interact with the world and people is only based on OUR own perception, meanings and often, very limiting beliefs. In our adulthood, if we do not question them and we avoid our fears, we just pass them to our children and we imprint them in others around us.

We tend to disregard our impact on environment and our community, which we live in. We prefer to close ourselves in a shelf of a success and rarely share our vulnerability, fearing rejection and disappointment. These are all natural ways of coping, passed to us by our ancestors and that is why I have shared a piece of my story with you around my fear.

Looking at the recent politics, we clearly see that there is lots of unspoken anger, exclusion and fear out there. Young generation seems to forget that there is a whole world beyond internet and social media, and in that world, there are still millions, who can vote and change our history for better or for worse. This is not to criticize anyone or anything, but only to point out, there are people out there who are not included in social media community at all. Sounds obvious, but really, is it?

Understanding what is really happening in you is a very first step to understand what can be happening in others. ‘Your fears distort your reality. Under the warped logic of fear, anything is better than the uncertain. Fear fills the void at all costs, passing off what you dread for what you know, offering up the worst in place of the ambiguous, substituting assumption for reason’, Isaac says. His message to us has a huge value, so please, watch and read it a few times:

Personally, I have got a new perspective on how my future could look like if I would lose my sight and it is not so fearful and scary as it was yesterday. My vision of helping and supporting others is much bigger than my illness and fears. I have created my life as I wanted it to be and this work is not over yet! This is like building a stunning house, with many big windows and interior design of my liking: rich, creative and filled with music and fun. Add to this picture an inspiring place, where others can rest, rejuvenate and learn more about themselves and their impact on the word. You know, I called it ‘Your Coach Studio’ for a reason!
