A Turning Point for Our Country

This week holds a lot of meaning, a lot of emotion, a lot of impact for many people.
From my perspective, we are in a very dangerous time where critical thinking is under attack, where accurate information is not being intelligently consumed from different perspectives.
There are valid conservative perspectives.
There are valid liberal perspectives.
But the tragedy I see is the lack of real, open dialogue.
While many may be relaxing at the transition in our government at the moment, I am not relaxing. This is a time to take the bull by the horns and to open the dialogue up. This is a time to talk brother to brother, not fight brother to brother, to talk sister to sister, not fight sister to sister. It is a time to listen, to deeply listen, to hear each other’s pain.
We have an enormous amount of pain being expressed and we don’t know how to deal with it—pain related to our systems. We are seeing our black brothers and sisters suffering 2.5 more deaths from covid and more financial hardships.
We are in a period of time where more money is concentrated in fewer hands than ever before. This is not a time to relax. I believe it is a time for all of us to look at some of the things we have been afraid to look at. Personally, I am looking at things I have been afraid to look at. And this work is not easy. It is uncomfortable but I believe it is necessary.

Staying invisible playing small will not serve anyone one voice to join with many can heal and find a solution to making this world a better place.
