TURNING OVER STONES

One thing we could probably all agree on is that stopping or giving up before you achieve your goals is probably foolish.? This past week or so, I hit a wall when I realized after going through my Rolodex that I know so very few people connected to capital. That would be investors or #IndieFilm #producers.? I say both because they are intertwined but also that through this process, I think I may have stated, I am developing a new product for #filmmakers but also a movie I will be making.? Sure that could be seen as though I am spreading myself thin or too random, but considering my years of work maybe it’s not so abstract.? Anyway, this is what I am doing, and to me they serve one another.? On one hand I am seeking $10k - $100k to finish manufacturing a new tool for filmmakers, which is small compared to the $500k - $1.5M I’d need to make a #movie.? And then there is the reality that I am later to the game than some, but I think that is irrelevant. From what I have learned is that if you make investors money on their investment then you increase the odds them or others investing more in future projects, so I am combining both into a daily, weekly, monthly campaign to learn about #fundraising and #investment #capital, oh and #investors. ?

The key to the process is as I professed before; pitching and talking to folks who are willing to listen, those who may be helpful to your cause, from there you may meet more and more and like a good detective you connect dots and follow leads to see which may serve you.? And that was my week.

I started with the stark realization that my Rolodex is thin, but with some ingenuity and a few conversations some new leads and ideas surfaced.? These of course could be key, but may also develop more leads and so on, the law of averages applies.? Lastly was the epiphany, that I had to take the writing, the blabbing in my mind, that I commit to on here, and put it to good use for myself and others. ?

A new goal I set for myself as well: I am going to interview at least 20 #IndieFeatureFilmproducers to make connections, learn and dispel some myths,? this may take moment, but education usually does. After that, I reckon, I’ll be doing the same with #investors. ?
