Turning a Negatives Into Positives in 2020

Turning a Negatives Into Positives in 2020

I've heard many people say that they would like to reset 2020 or skip to 2021, and I can't say that I blame them for saying that. Many have lost their lives and others have lost family members and teammates to this harmful virus.

However, there are quite a few positives that have happened this year including learning a new skill sets that I did not have before. So I am happy and grateful that I'm still alive and that I still have a great team to work with and that we have learned so many different things this year.

Still in process, but things I have learned so far in 2020:

  • How to do live videos
  • How to make better recorded videos
  • How to operate #Linkedinlive
  • How to put on a virtual conference

Virtual Conferences

The fourth was how to put on a conference, virtually. We learned how to give an in person conference in 2018 and repeated it in 2019. It was a great experience! We had such a great response that we decided to hold two conferences in 2020.

Rollis, Marissa, and Leah with thumbs up for the conference!

However, it became apparent fairly early on in the year we were going to have to delay at least one of the two conferences that we had scheduled (April and October 2020). The first delay was from February to April for scheduling reasons, then from April to September due to the Pandemic.

We thought we were safe with our second conference being scheduled in October. Now it is quite clear that it won't be feasible in 2020 to have an in person conference within the healthcare space. Not only are there risks and having large in person gatherings, there is a greater risk in bringing healthcare professionals and healthcare support teams together.

So we held our first virtual conference on June 5, 2020 and it was fantastic!

Now we are holding our second virtual conference later this month from September 30th - October 2nd and can't wait!

Linkedin Live

I was approved for Linkedin Live in late 2019, however I never dreamed how valuable it would be until March 2020 when the Pandemic would start to take a heavy toll on our industry!

We went from having no schedule and doing them sporadically to 5 shows a week at almost the same time every day!

I have met so many interesting people and had an opportunity to meet people I had only read or heard about previously. For example I read the book "The Go-Giver" in 2009 as well as Go-Givers Sell More in subsequent years. Never imagining interviewing one of the co-authors of the book, Bob Burg, twice! After thinking about it some more, I actually remember being introduced to one of his earlier books, Endless Referrals, while I was learning how to be a financial advisor in my prior career.

I also had the same experience in reading and hearing about Quint Studer, the founder of The Studer Group, Studer Community Institute, and the Owner of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. I have had the pleasure of interviewing him twice on my Live show as well!

Both of these gentlemen were a pleasure to interview and am so happy we were able to connect!

As I look back, many of my interviews have centered around the nursing profession, which has also been fantastic! Below is a great example of these sessions with Dr Campbell, Mrs. Weinstein, Mrs. Hess, Dr Clipper and Dr Boston-Leary!

There have been countless other great leaders in our healthcare industry as well as leaders throughout Linkedin that I have had an opportunity to engage with. It has been fantastic!

I also have been privileged to be supported by a very loyal following of supporters who watch our Live shows called #linkedinliveVIPs. They are awesome, many thanks to them!

Stay tuned as things progress, but this is a great start of gratitude for all of you who are in my network!
