I always wanted to pursue my own thing.
The idea had been lingering in the back of my mind for years, like a flickering flame waiting for the right moment to burst into a roaring fire. I still vividly recall the conversation I had with my Dutch friend George during our visit to China.
We were sitting in a quaint restaurant in Tianjin, surrounded by the bustling city sound, and we both asked each other the same question that had been haunting us for some time:
What would we like to venture into?
George, ever the conversational one, had a ready answer. He wanted to specialize in selling corrugated steel plates for industrial purposes. His eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as he explained his vision, and I couldn't help but admire his clarity and determination. Meanwhile, I sat there clueless, my mind a whirlwind of vague ideas & half-formed concepts.
As the days passed during our trip, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I needed to find my own path, something that would ignite my passion and drive. I realized that intention alone was never enough in the realm of business.
The journey from ideation to incubation of that idea, followed by the creation of a minimum viable product (MVP) for market justification, and then the full-throttle operation with the aim of growth and long-term sustainability—it was a daunting process, and I felt overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of it all.
Then, as fate would have it, the pandemic hit, sweeping across the globe like an invisible storm ??
It disrupted industries, shuttered businesses, and left countless people grappling with uncertainty. But to me, it was truly a blessing in disguise. The chaos it brought also opened up alleys of opportunities for me to tap into.

With the right support system in place—mentors who had walked this path before, a family that believed in me, and a close-knit business circle that offered guidance—I started to search for that sweet spot. I delved deep into market research, seeking the niche where both my strengths & a gap in the market overlapped.
It wasn't an easy journey ?
It required countless hours of brainstorming, late-night discussions, and several iterations of my initial ideas.
The roller coaster of entrepreneurship brought its fair share of ups and downs. Each failure served as fuel to propel me forward with even greater persistence. 3 years down the road, my business had achieved consistent growth year after year. I watched as my vision slowly transformed into a thriving reality, and the sense of fulfillment I derived from it was immeasurable.
Along the way, other opportunities knocked on my door—some enticing, some tempting. I had to make tough decisions. I took a few diversions, exploring side projects that piqued my interest. However, my desire to be focused on growing what I had in hand remained unwavering.
As I reflect on my journey, I realize that finding my own path was not just about chasing success, but about embracing the process of self-discovery & perseverance.
I had ventured into the unknown with nothing (literary) but a vague dream and a heart full of determination, and through dedication and resilience, I had turned that dream into a reality. The journey, with all its twists and turns, had not only shaped my business but had also molded me into a person I could be proud of.
