Turning Dreams Into Reality

Turning Dreams Into Reality

When Edmund Hillary decided to climb Mount Everest for the first time, no one believed him. There was no reason to believe him. He was a beekeeper in New Zealand and mountaineering was his hobby. His talk of climbing the world’s tallest mountain, naturally, seemed crazy.

There had been several prior attempts in this direction and none had succeeded while some climbers had died trying it.

Discharged from the military in December 1945 after an injury, Hillary set about chasing his dream.

He mastered his tools, the use of ice pick, rope, other necessary gears and practiced climbing peaks in New Zealand and Europe and finally in 1951, got an invitation to the Himalayan expedition. Working with the Sherpa guides, the expedition identified the best route up the world’s tallest mountain. However, they could merely survive that attempt. Then on 26th May 1953, two climbers from the same expedition made it very close to the top, but they failed just 100 yards from the summit.

After that the magic happened!

Just three days later, on May 29th, Edmund Hillary, along with Tenzing Norgay, reached the top!

So what’s your dream, dear readers of One Step Forward?

Your task is not just to foresee the future, but to enable it.

Become the third kind of leader- the one who both raises our performance and also lifts our soul!

I believe any dream that inspires you and enhances your life forward, is worth pursuing.

Setbacks are also an important part of that pursuit. Setbacks aren’t roadblocks, they’re stepping stones. They challenge us, teach us resilience, and often push us to grow in ways we never expected.

They’re just part of the journey— the challenges that shape us and make the success even sweeter when we get there.

So, keep pushing forward!

Wishing you all a spectacular 2025, brimming with fresh lessons, exciting adventures, and dreams turning into reality! ?
