Turn, turn, turn

Turn, turn, turn

To everything Turn, turn, turn

There is a season Turn, turn, turn

This old song by the Byrds has been stuck in my head for a few days now. (I'm sure many of you are too young to know the song - for those that know it... sorry for the earworm) Saturday, February 29 was my last official day with TD Bank after 21 years and this song sums up how I’m feeling.

21 years seems like a long time and if you read my last blog, you’ll know that I never intended to make a career out of banking; yet here I am. When I first learned that my role had been made redundant, I was in shock then heartbroken. After so long with one institution, I really had come to believe that I bled green. Now that some time has passed, I look back on all that I have learned and I’m so grateful for the opportunities that I was given and I’m grateful for the chance to move forward.

With TD, I had the opportunity to travel the country and meet so many people both within the bank and in industry. I learned about what makes businesses different and what makes them the same. I heard others’ points of view about what makes their business, my business, their area and our country great. I connected with amazing leaders and tried my best to learn from them what I could. I worked with emerging leaders, to try to pass on those things that I’d picked up along the way. I was given the opportunity to speak publicly, representing Women in Leadership and Indigenous culture. I stretched my skills and failed many times and I succeeded many others.

I am so thankful for my time and to all those whom have taken the time to work with me along my journey. I’m so grateful to those that have been so generous with their time to let me know that life after change can be amazing. There are new adventures for me. I will miss what I am leaving behind. I will miss the people but we live in an age where anyone can stay connected if they want to – and I DO want to. I will discover my new adventure and I hope that you’ll all stay with me. Onwards!!
