The difference between between providing your customers with solutions and doing something they are not interested in is that the other (obviously) will make you money.
It basically is a triangle. The lowest part is the DIY (do it yourself) method, the middle part is the DWY (done with you) method and the top is the DFY (done for you) method. Evaluate your business based on these three groups of people. Once you are able to identify your target, then you can craft your messages, services and products. Give people ways to work with you.
- Done for You - when your customers pay you to do something for them
- Done with You - both you and your customer exert the same amount of effort for it to work
- Do it yourself - you teach your customers how to do stuff and they can do it themselves
Teach people what you know, especially the basics. This is what I call the insider secrets. You need to be the reporter instead of the creator. Report what your successes and failures are based on your experiences. This will give you credibility and establish your reputation as an expert.
Help people to generate income for your business. One effective way to do this is to offer a premium product. Many people forget that you can tier-up your product and services by offering a DIY, DWY and DFY then you can generate multiple levels of income within a single business structure.
Never think that your products or services are too expensive unless of cours you have nothing to offer.
