I had to break my own--no electronics over the weekend rule to share this story. I had no idea that x-ray film was used to create boot-leg records during the KGB crackdown on all things outside of Russian borders.
Something is macabre but amusing about the catalogue of forbidden and un-labeled bone records filed according to the x-ray findings. Here are two vodkas for one broken femur (knowing that perhaps a jazz recording was scratched onto the surface).
Innovation emerges whenever conflict arises. The vinyl was not available. The idea of not having access to the forbidden music was the seed that created this beautiful story...what's in your bones?
