Turn 2022's challenge into your motivation for 2023!

Let's have a quick reality check!

Everyone I have spoken to was struggling by the end of 2022!

Many people were feeling overwhelmed, on the edge of burnout or just running on empty. However, as you describe it, one thing is clear, there is a lot of stress around right now. Be that from personal financial concerns as the cost of living increases, or from feeling like you cannot keep up with the pace of change or living in such uncertain times.

This means that each & every one of us needs to focus on our well-being as a top priority in 2023.

How do you as a leader cope when not only your team are struggling but you are too?

2023 is going to be a challenging year for leaders everywhere! You need to support & motivate an overwhelmed workforce & enable them to be at their best!

This is a massive ask of anyone! Most leaders are just not prepared & do not know how to cope with this!

However, as with every problem, there is a massive opportunity for 2023!

Perhaps we can use this to actually create healthier working environments that support our people to thrive even during such uncertain times.

You see no matter how hard many people found 2022, they also will have experienced joy, gratitude, & most likely happiness.

Humans are complex beings & we often assume if we are sad or stressed that is the only way we feel! It's not! We can feel sad & still feel moments of joy or happiness! All our emotions are in motion!

So we need to help people where they are today, not by ignoring the stress but by helping them feel safe, feel supported & by helping them feel valued; that their contribution matters.

This year we need an abundance of courage, connection & compassion with our teams to enable them to contribute!

As a leader, how can you support your people?

The answer is by supporting yourself (self-leadership) & creating an environment where your team feels safe & valued.
