Turkey: The National Intelligence Academy is now operational

The newly established Turkish National Intelligence Academy started its activities on 6 January.
According to Turkish reports, the National Intelligence Academy will start accepting students for postgraduate and doctoral programs in the autumn semester of 2024.
Anyone who has graduated from relevant undergraduate programs at universities that provide at least four years of formal education and meet the required requirements will be able to apply to the academy's postgraduate programs.
The Academy will operate as a university structure and courses will be delivered by academics who are experts in their fields.
Candidates will be able to apply to programs such as intelligence, security, regional studies, cyber security and cryptology, satellite space systems, artificial intelligence and data analysis and similar programs that will be opened within the Academy.
Another of the Academy's main areas of activity will be scientific research. R&D projects will be developed and implemented in coordination. It aims to conduct research and produce projects in the fields of information and security, taking into account Turkey's strategic priorities and objectives, and to organize organizations such as workshops, seminars, conferences and congresses at national and international level that will allow academics working in these fields to meet on a common platform.
The National Intelligence Academy also aims to inform the public and decision-makers and raise awareness by publishing reports and analyses on critical issues concerning Turkey.
The National Intelligence Academy also plans to produce scientific knowledge in the field of information and security through its educational and scientific research activities, to transfer this knowledge to the international literature and in this process, to create a specialized and globally integrated intelligence studies community in Turkey.

The academy also aims to contribute to the establishment and development of the field of intelligence as a discipline of science in Turkey.

Equivalent degrees
The National Academy of Intelligence will have two main areas of activity: education and research.
The educational activities will be carried out through programs within the institutes.
The research centers will function as structures where scientific research, workshops, symposia and other academic studies are conducted.
Only postgraduate and doctoral education will be provided within the National Intelligence Academy.
Postgraduate and doctoral students at the academy will be able to graduate on completion of their academic thesis, as they do at other universities.
Postgraduate students will be able to work in the private sector, in academia or in government institutions.
The Academy will also have recognition by the Y?K (Council for Higher Education) of the diploma obtained
