Turkey Drive 2019
I don't often post non-work related things on LinkedIn, but sometimes it's a project that's worth sharing out to my network. The Turkey Drive is one of those projects.
Every year the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club raises money for the House of Friendship's Christmas Food Hamper program. This program delivers food hampers, including turkeys, or other available meats if turkey isn't appropriate, to over 4000 families on our community here in Waterloo Region. For $100 you can provide a complete food hamper for a family in need in this community. This program raises approximately $400,000 each year for the House of Friendship, along with hundreds of volunteers to pack the food hampers and deliver them to our community.

You can donate by credit card on the site or there is an address to send a cheque to if that is your preferred way. If you are a company and want to get involved in an employee campaign please message me and we will provide you all the tools you need to raise awareness and funds for this important project.
Our community is very fortunate to have a diverse and vibrant economy, but even here 20% of our community members don't have food security. There are lots of reasons that families fall into this category, but the point is that everyone needs help once in a while. If you are able to, please consider donating to the Turkey Drive this year, or get involved through your company.
