Turbocharge Your "Digital+Experiential Marketing"

As Simon Sinek said, "Start with WHY?"

We, as brand marketers or event planners, would agree "Experiential Marketing is providing a unique experience which lasts a lifetime."

If it lasts a lifetime, don't you think they also should these Experiences should be also shared for the lifetime.

Like a couple of years back, my wife bought a 'Brand X' watch for me on my birthday.  (I don't want to mention the Brand without their consent.)

Casually, the salesperson asked for whom is the watch. My wife told him that its a birthday present for me.

The salesperson got excited and asked my wife to invite me to the store, and the store staffs would celebrate my birthday.

I went to the store on my birthday, and indeed the store sales staff bought a beautiful cake and sang the birthday song and celebrated. We took pictures, and I uploaded it as WhatsApp status.

That's Experiential Marketing!

Thanks to that fantastic never before Experience, I remember it still and am sure it will last forever. I keep sharing this Experience in my known circle. But that would be around 15-20 people at the max.

Let's Celebrate Digitally

But what the Store or the Brand missed that day probably is "Digitally" capitalising that Positive Customer Experience.

They could have planned a small 30-60 sec video around such Experiences with their Customers.

Celebrations broadcasted live on FB/ Insta (of course with the consent) would have given the reel-life a real-life connect. Aha Moment! captured live unedited. (You know why flash mob or prank videos go viral)

May be taken just a simple Video Testimonial.

And thoughtfully repurposed and promoted these video/photos in their Insta / FB / Twitter handles.

They could have asked me to share it instantly on my FB/ Insta handles, which I would have gladly done.

Or using a digital camera, taken the photo with an excellent colourful, simple Backdrop. Given me the printed copy.

And Digital copy tagged with a unique hashtag such as #brandxcelebrates or #celebratewithbrandx or something like that.

Store staffs across the nation could have shared and reshared in their social media handles. (Employee marketing on Social Media is catching up big time. It reflects the right culture and attracts the right talent.)

I could be on their mailing list with Affiliate Marketing opportunities.

Least, they could have sent me my photo/video, the following year, which I would have gladly shared again.

Brands can create many such digital intervention opportunities to engage perennially. (Unless Brand Promise in future is under-delivered and I go off their list.)

If you plan it well, every Experience combined with a series of digital interventions, I call it "Digital+Experiential Marketing", can create a spiral, viral revolution.

But yet most of the Brand Marketers play myopic still. All they think about is Event Day and not before and not after.

I am going to be starting a series of knowledge share on "Digital+Experience Marketing".

Type "Yes" in the comment box, if you want to be in the reader's list.

But before that send me a Linkedin Connect request if we are not connected.

Or simply Send me a mail request on [email protected]

And don't forget to Tag and Share this to your known Brand marketers and Event marketers.
