Turbo-charging the bots with Cloud & AI
One of the most cited benefits of RPA bots has been the perceived ability to respond swiftly to changing business dynamics. Organizations are promised a bot workforce which can responsively scale to demand. And given that bots are now deployed on critical business processes, there is indeed a potential of higher gains with enhanced business agility.
However, much of this story comes crashing down due to the underlying challenges of provisioning the infrastructure required to run the bots. There is also the complexity of determining what the required infrastructure should be to ensure adequate and appropriate bot capacity. The effort & the complexity to solve these issues, significantly impact the ability to optimally respond to business changes.?Cloud & AI could offer solutions to the problem
Leveraging Cloud & AI to solve this
1. Smart AI monitoring solution
An AI-enabled smart monitoring solution could be deployed to aggregate key metrics across all bot-enabled processes e.g. volumes, SLAs, average handling time, error rate, system performance, etc. The solution should be capable of determining what the infrastructure requirements for each of the processes are - both immediate and near term. By continuously monitoring the volumes, the solution can keep tweaking? the bot infrastructure requirements.
2. Provisioning bots on cloud
The native functionalities available on the cloud platforms allow auto-scaling the infrastructure quickly & easily providing both cost and scale benefits. Based on requirements determined by the AI solution, underlying infrastructure can be provisioned. By ensuring pre-defined setups are available, machines can be quickly configured. This will require an intelligent system which can determine how the machines are to be optimally distributed among the processes and the sequence/timing to be followed for redeployment.
In summary, bots offer organizations a workforce which could be deployed on-demand. However, existing infrastructure & provision requirements across organizations take away much of the flexibility and speed which bots can offer. These challenges could potentially be solved using cloud and AI. Organizations can turbo-charge the workforce and achieve significantly higher benefits by deploying smart solutions built on RPA, AI & Cloud.
