Turban - My PRIDE, My Recognition in World
Today, Let me share a personal story while I was with my team Akaal Purakh Ki Fauj (Team APKF) in Kerala for flood relief.
It was also a proud moment and we will like to thank our Guru Sahib again for giving us this identity and recognition in form of our crowns that is turban as we got a nice and pleasant surprise when our car was stopped by a stranger who introduced himself as govt. employed relief coordinator for that sub-divison. On asking he told he stopped us because of our turbans as he thought we were there to help flood victims.
When he was informed that we were indeed there to help and are going to schools to support, he was delighted and took us to a remote school 55 km from district HQ in Makkimali area which has been damaged and was unfit for operations. Coincidentally this was also the 2nd school visited by team where madrasas have allowed/agreed to give their space for the running of the govt. Schools teaching students of days different communities which were damaged by land slides. Even though both were separated by more than 60 km in distance it seems they were attached by a common thread of humanity.
The team supported to re-establish both the schools immediately in this make-shift area provided by madrasas with the requirements including painting material, etc. At the end of day it was a great satisfaction that both schools were able to start classes after 1 day.
The LAUGHTER on the face of the Kid in the Pic was the ultimate Pleasure and a will be remembered always. This Pic will also keep reminding me that we were able to bring this smile just because someone recognized us by "TURBAN" and took us where the help was required. My Turban gave me this Recognition and am PROUD to have this CROWN on my head.
