Tuning into the Frequency of Success

Tuning into the Frequency of Success

Learn how energy, alignment, and action create the perfect rhythm for success.

Today for work, I visited the setup of the Groove Driver Festival 2024, happening from 13 - 22 September at the Singapore Sports Hub, OCBC Square. As I stood there, I was in awe of the phenomenal effort going into what promises to be an incredible celebration of music across all genres and eras - some dating back to my youth! I mean, Johnny Hates Jazz, Lighthouse Family, Beyond, and even Ministry of Sound! While I was standing there, soaking it all in, the perfect analogy came to mind, one that sums up the practice of tuning into our energy, the theme that wraps up this week’s series exploring authenticity, alignment, and action. And what better way to describe it than through the energy of vibrations and the frequency of music? After all, as they say, music speaks when words fail, and we’ve all felt the way music moves our hearts, lifting us into flow. Let’s explore how energy and action tie together to create success. Everything in life is about frequency. Like a radio signal, it’s always there; we just have to tune into it.

Every day, we operate at a certain frequency, fuelled by a limited amount of energy. We sustain ourselves with food, water, sunlight, and rest to keep that energy flowing optimal. But think about how often we let static get in the way. Whether it’s distractions, doubt, or bad habits, they all cause interference. This static pulls us away from the traction we need to move toward our goals.

What we see and focus on is a reflection of the “radio station” we’ve tuned into. It’s like the reticular activating system (RAS) at work—it amplifies what we tell ourselves is important and, at the same time, creates blind spots. We can be so locked into one path, one way of thinking, that we become blind to easier solutions right in front of us. This happens because of the identity we’ve built for ourselves, framed around our limiting beliefs, "boxing" us into conformity, and tuning us into the “wrong” frequency we think is the only way. And since we’re so invested in this version of our path, we fail to notice simpler, unique or more effective ways that could lead us toward our goals.

Most of us want to attract prosperity, synchronicity, and wealth. But how often do our actions truly reflect those desires? We can’t expect optimal results if we’re not operating at our best. To attract what you want, you must act in alignment with your goals. For every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. Now, imagine that action being muddied by static—self-doubt, procrastination, and excuses. These distractions pull us out of forward motion, almost like we’re stuck in a dance of two steps forward, one step back, or worse yet, spinning circles like the Macarena - busying ourselves while constantly tripping over our own feet on the path to progress.

It’s the small daily actions—1% improvements—that add up over time. This means cutting out distractions, moving away from bad habits, and building better ones that support your goals. Most importantly, it’s about being honest with yourself. You can’t pretend you’re on the right path if you’re not taking the steps that align with what you say you want.

Think of it like tuning into music. The frequency is already playing everywhere. You just need to adjust your internal dial to match it. When you’re vibrating at the right frequency, you’ll notice that things start to flow. You’ll start attracting the right opportunities, people, and ideas.

And remember, it’s okay to let go of pride. Pride is just Ego barking louder than your inner IDentity. If you can calm that noise, quiet the mind so you’ll start to hear yourself think again. And that’s where creativity lives. Sometimes, we take life too seriously, while a healthy dose of Fun is all we really need. Kids don’t limit themselves. They imagine, they play, they create.

One of my favourite games with my daughter is called “I Wonder…” We go on wild tangents, where nothing is impossible. It starts with “I wonder if…” and the other person has to build on it with “what if…” The rules are simple: (1) Let go of the need to be right, (2) Be open to being wrong, and (3) Anything is possible. Whenever I dial it back with some physics-related limitation, she reminds me I’m breaking the rules, giving me her classic eye roll and saying, “Don’t be silly, mummy.”

There’s a lesson there. Maybe it’s time for us to let go of the noise, embrace curiosity, and allow ourselves to wonder again. To tap into that frequency of possibility that’s already out there, just waiting for us to tune in—no matter how silly or impossible it may seem (adults often call this the need for “control”). After all, it’s usually our own limiting beliefs, masked as control, that hold us back from what’s truly possible. When we let go of the need to be right or to have everything figured out, we open ourselves up to creativity, new ideas, and opportunities we never thought were within reach. What if the very thing we dismiss as far-fetched or unrealistic is exactly what we need to break through our own barriers? Sometimes, the key to moving forward is simply allowing ourselves the freedom to imagine without limitations.

Action Points:

1. Recognise the Frequency – Understand that energy and opportunity are always present, much like music. It’s your job to tune into the right frequency for success.

2. Let Go of Control – Release the need to control every detail. Let curiosity and flow guide your actions instead of rigid expectations.

3. Embrace Authenticity – Align your actions with your authentic self. When you’re in tune with who you are, you naturally attract opportunities that match your frequency.

4. Take Inspired Action – Like music needs rhythm, your goals need consistent, aligned actions. Each small, inspired action moves you closer to your desired outcome.

5. Use Flow as Your Guide – Pay attention to the moments when things feel easy and natural. These are signs you’re in the right frequency. Stay in that flow and keep moving forward.
