Certification Prerequisites

As a vibration analyst, you probably know that getting certified to ISO 18436-2 requires a combination of work experience, training hours, and passing a certification exam. And of course you know that a number of organizations provide training and certification exams. You might not know that an organization must be accredited to ISO/IEC 17024 to be able to provide certifications that are legally valid. The Vibration Institute’s Vibration Analyst (VA) Certification program is accredited by ANAB since 2010 and continues to meet the highest standards of certification.

Did you know that ANAB cooperates with other accrediting bodies?

This means the Vibration Institute accepts vibration analyst certifications from other ISO/IEC 17024 accredited organizations as prerequisite to our VA certifications; specifically, BINDT, CMVA, and Mobius Institute. For example, if you are a CMVA-certified Category III Vibration Analyst, you can apply to take the Institute’s Category IV certification exam once you meet the Cat IV work and training requirements.?

Note: Training provided by any organization that addresses the content of ISO 18436-2 typically can be used to meet training requirements of the Vibration Institute’s VA certification program.?
