Tuesday Trio: Do I overthink everything?

Tuesday Trio

Welcome to the latest edition of Tuesday Trio.

Each week, Tuesday Trio serves up three tips to evoke reflection and improve our mental health and wellbeing.

This week, we’re asking, “Do I overthink everything?”

  • Is overthinking another form of deliberation?
  • How does overthinking everything, impact my mental health?
  • How can I control my overthinking?

The tips and pieces we include today explore these questions and how overthinking is not helpful to our mental health and wellbeing. It seems too, that when we overthink, it does not mean we are making better decisions.

What are we reading this week?

Executive coach, Melody Wilding, shares five tips in her article, How to Stop Overthinking Everything, for Harvard Business Review. Her five strategies can help us “stop the cycle of thinking too much, and drive towards better, faster decisions.”

The idea of leveraging intuition, of trusting our head, heart, and gut, spoke to us. It turns out that intuition is much more than guesswork; it’s a form of rapid decision-making that is more considered than we might assume.
