Tuesday Event: Green Streets & Green Angels Explained

The pilot has been successful and Green Streets is rolling down the street.. and now eyeing the next ones when along comes an invitation way too good to miss!

POWER STATION's POWER HOUR - Tuesday

Our plans for the Green Streets Club are still expanding and developing under our hands. Including plans for rapid expansion.

But now, it seems, it is time to pull back the veil - and share what we have with those who've inspired and supported us to get here- not least among them Ann Pettifor and, in turn, the POWER FILM community led by Dan & Hilary responsible for the first street POWER STATION!

So, on Tuesday their next POWER HOUR, will be devoted to Green Streets, and they're kindly making this available via the link below to everyone interested in seeing how this might work on their street.

Here's the Details:

16th April 11:00 UK Time – POWER HOUR

We’ll be talking to Barry James from Green Streets about the project he has running on his street in Sheffield. If you are interested in models for getting a POWER STATION on your own street this session should be invaluable.

Green streets is a new win-win-win way to help households overcome the cost and other barriers to going green.

Inspired by the work of Dan, Hilary and Ann Pettifor, Barry found immediate enthusiasm on his street in Sheffield... except they didn't want a crowdfund!

Frankly a bit of a blow for a bloke who's written a book on it and spent a decade already as an advocate for crowdfunding!

So. Starting with a nearly-clean sheet of paper... Apart from all the inspiration mentioned already Barry had founded Humane.Energy with help from some world level experts and had completed a global survey of Green Technologies, including Solar,? Wind etc at everything from domestic and community to industrial level. Asking when they would become affordable enough to proliferate.?

They already were - economic that is, even before the Ukraine war sent prices through the roof.

But what they were not doing was proliferating at anything like the rate they could, and that we need for the sake of the environment.?

So, finding the given reason for this unconvincing, and offered an... almost... clean sheet of paper... while standing on the shoulders of the giants mentioned already…

The Challenge: Create a new win-win-win business model that can remove the barriers for households and enable Solar and all the new, green, technologies to proliferate.

After a 9 month gestation the pilot is up and running in Sheffield having proved capable of delivering a win-win-win, almost halving the cost and making them affordable on an already stretched household budget.

What a journey... and more importantly... what could come next?
