Happy Thursday,
How have you been?I was supposed to send my TuesDate newsletter last Tuesday but my jet lag from my recent Europe trip was terrible.
I am not complaining though. I am embracing it. It's part of the journey. Haha!Things are getting better and better each day.
Last night, I did a LIVE Masterclass on "How to Speak Confidently as an Entrepreneur... Even if You're Shy and Introverted."
400+ entrepreneurs and high achievers attended the event virtually and it's such a joy to share my insights on that topic.
What made that Masterclass even more meaningful is that we are donating 33% of our ticket sales to Bahay Aruga, a halfway house for children with cancer.
Today, my message is about change.Should you change?
Should you change who you are?
Change is constant and we all change.
We change in terms of growth.
We can grow in our confidence, competence, skills, etc.
But there is something in us that I believe, we don't need to change.
Let me give a context. When I was in Belgium, I learned that they make really great beer there. They are known for beers, and they pride themselves in beers.
But I don't drink beer and I also didn't feel the pressure to drink beer there.
There's nothing wrong with drinking beer. It's just my own conviction. I'm not into alcohol.
When I was in Amsterdam, I learned that Amsterdam is known for these two things (among many others, of course!)
1. Smoking weed in "coffee shops" there was legal.
2. Red light district
I was invited to "visit" those places while I was there.
I politely declined because I am not into smoking weeds and I also value the dignity of people, especially women.I don't subscribe to the red light district culture.
Having said this, I am not in any position to judge people who drink, smoke weed, or go to red light district.
It is my personal conviction to do my best to stick to my values and my core as much as I can.
This is my message for this TuesDate newsletter (which I am sending on a Thursday). Haha! You don't need to change who you are just to conform with what the society says. That's why it's so important to know our core and our values, so we can make decisions that are aligned to who we really are.
If your friends do things that are not in accordance with your values, you can say no.If your company asks you to do something that is not aligned with your core, you can say no.
You have that choice.
Hope this short newsletter empowered you!
I wish you love, joy, and peace today and everyday!Cheers,Sha
P.S.?I am surrounded by generous and world-class mentors who show me what's possible. I am so amazed at what I am witnessing in their lives.
One mentor is traveling the world to speak and he brings with him his wife and children.
Another mentor is happily married to her husband and this mentor of mine is a top global guru and a highly paid global speaker. Another mentor travels the world and makes a difference in the countries he visits in a massive way through his talks and consulting work.
These mentors show me what's possible and they inspire me in a beautiful and deep way. I can never repay them, but I always like to pay it forward. This is one of the reasons why I send TuesDate newsletters, post on social media, and post vlogs on my YouTube channel. My friend Coen from Singapore gave me the monicker,?The Possibility Igniter.?I cried when he said,?"You are a Possibility Igniter, Sha! You show people what's possible."
I hope my TuesDate newsletter and my social media posts inspire you to see what's possible.
We just uploaded my latest vlog re me exploring 3 cities in Belgium in one day. May this vlog inspire you and show you what's possible. #InspiringPossibilities
