Happy Tuesday! :)
I was chatting with my dear college friend a few nights ago.
We were talking about how challenging it is to book a ride via Grab these days.
She suggested months ago that I buy a car but I haven't given it much thought since I don't usually go out anyway.
Now that the world is starting to open up again, I realized she has a point.
That night, I told her about this second-hand black Honda Civic car I was planning to buy.
She suggested I can have the car repainted to something more feminine.
She then asked me what color I wanted.
I quickly replied, "Peach! It's my favorite color."?(Actually pink or peach. They look the same to me)
She said, "Not peach for a car, please! Haha!"
She then added, "Go for classic... white!"
When I shared it with my brother, he agreed with my friend. Hahaha!
During my retreat last month, the directress announced that we can let the admin know our diet restrictions.
My eyes lit up and I asked my seat mate, who is also my long-time friend.
"So it means I can request for hot choco since I don't drink coffee?"
My friend teased me and said,?"Sha, that's not a diet restriction. That's kaprichuhan! (whim or preference).
She went further and said,?"For example I like to drink Coke, but I won't ask for it because it's kaprichuhan."
Hahaha!
I love how honest my friends and my brother were.
They didn't sugarcoat their words.
They didn't say the words they thought I wanted to hear in the guise of respecting my opinion.
And I'm so grateful for that!
We all have our blind spots and it's such a gift when we have honest friends who can speak the truth in love to us.
We need?honesty?now more than ever!
We need honest leaders, honest employees, honest government officials, honest friends, honest spouse, honest social media posts (vs fake news)...
Indeed,?honesty is the best policy!
Honesty leads to trust.
Dishonesty leads to lies, deception, cheating, manipulation, theft, etc.
May we embrace honesty and may we be surrounded by honest people.
I wish you love, joy, and peace today and everyday! :)
Cheers,
Sha
