● Brisbane 2032: A furious, political row over Brisbane 2032 venue funding from the national and Queensland government continues, with the new Liberal National Party state government accusing the former Labor government of hiding costs. The national government (Labor) says it will contribute no more.
● Australia: Paris break dancer Rachael Gunn says she is not retiring, but is not looking for major competitive opportunities in the future.
● Equestrian: The Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) Congress is underway in the UAE, and its revised financial projections show very good stability, with about CHF 58 million in revenue projected for 2024, and for 2025.?
● Hockey: Pakistan’s Tayyab Ikram was re-elected as the head of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), with the number of affiliated federations now up to 146. Its financials showed CHF 14.27 million in operating revenues for 2023, and a small surplus for the year.?
● Modern Pentathlon: A new “International Pentathlon Association” has been formed to continue opportunities for a format of the sport which includes riding. It has agreed with the Pony Club International Alliance to develop events for athletes who want to enjoy the sport with riding included.?
