Paris 2024: By one metric – media accreditations – it can be definitely be calculated that the 2024 Olympic Games were as big as 3.8 NFL Super Bowls!

Salt Lake City 2034: Venues from the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City are still in use and in good shape, with two municipally-owned arenas getting ready for renovations (and asking for Utah state funds to help).?

Glasgow 2026: The 2026 Commonwealth Games event program was published, with just 10 sports in total and 153 events, including in seven Paralympic sports.?

U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee: The Team USA Community Champions were announced, with 1984 cycling gold medalist Connie Carpenter Phinney among those honored for her work with the Davis Phinney Foundation.?

U.S. Center for SafeSport: Chuck Grassley, Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is asking some hard questions about how the Center hired a former Allentown, Pennsylvania police officer now accused of theft, rape and more, as an investigator.?

Alpine Skiing: U.S. star Lindsey Vonn said she had no problem with World Downhill champ Breezy Johnson being paired with Slalom star Mikaela Shiffrin, but was unhappy with the way it was disclosed, since she had promoted she and Shiffrin as a pair for Tuesday’s Team Combined.

Athletics: In case you missed it, there was another record performance at the Millrose Games, in the rarely-contested men’s indoor mile walk, with Mexican star Ever Palma getting a world best – and a $5,000 record bonus – for his win in 5:24.50.?

Modern Pentathlon: Alex Watson was a three-time Olympic competitor for Australia in 1984-88-92, but was disqualified for excessive caffeine – no longer banned – in Seoul. He came back to compete in Barcelona, but the World Olympians Association won’t recognize him as an Olympian!

Swimming: U.S. stars Ryan Lochte and Anthony Ervin were among four swimmers and eight total electees to the International Swimming Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be in July.
