Athletics: Lots of hot marks beyond the New Balance Grand Prix, with world leads in multiple events. North Carolina senior Ethan Strand ran a stunning 3:48.32 mile, moving to no. 3 all-time! And Shelby Houlihan returned from her doping suspension to set a short-lived world leader in the women’s 3,000 at 8:31.56.?

Badminton: Indonesia and host Thailand each won two events at the Thailand Masters in Patumwan.?

Cross Country Skiing: World Cup seasonal leader – and defending champion – Jessie Diggins of the U.S. scored another win, in the 10 km Interval Start Freestyle in Italy, and has an nearly-300 point lead after 23 of 31 events (she's pictured above; photo: Dustin Satloff-U.S. Ski Team).?

Cycling: The UCI World Tour Cadel Evans Great Ocean Races in Australia were won by Mauro Schmid (SUI) and Ally Wollarston (NZL).?

Freestyle Skiing: The FIS World Cup events in Aspen, Colorado, saw Americans Alex Hall (Slopestyle) and Alex Ferreira (Halfpipe) score wins, and Canada’s Marielle Thompson won both women’s ski Cross events in Switzerland. Canada’s Moguls superstar Mikael Kingsbury extended his record for most World Cups ever with golds no. 96 and 97. U.S. Olympic silver medalist Jaelin Kauf took a silver and gold in the women’s Moguls and Dual Moguls.?

Handball: Denmark won an unprecedented fourth straight IHF men’s World Championship, defeating Croatia, 32-26.?

Judo: The Paris Grand Slam saw host France and Japan both score three wins apiece. All of the Japanese winners were in the women’s division.?

Nordic Combined: In Austria for the Seefeld Triple, soon-to-retire Norwegian star Jarl Magnus Riiber won the first men’s race, then finished second twice, to teammate Jens Oftebro and German Vinzenz Geiger.? Norway’s Ida Marie Hagen won her seventh straight race in the opener, but after leading the jumping phase in the second event, was disqualified for a “suit infringement.” German Nathalie Armbruster won the last two events,?

Ski Jumping: Austria’s Daniel Tschofenig’s career year continued, with his sixth and seventh wins of the season, in Willingen (GER). The women’s event was another win for Norway’s Eirin Marie Kvandal.?

Ski Mountaineering: Spain’s World Champion Oriol Cardona Coll won the Sprint final at the ISMF World Cup in Boi Taull (ESP). The women’s winner was Emily Harrop, her third Sprint win this season in three races this season.?

Snowboard: American Chloe Kim won the women’s Halfpipe World Cup in Aspen, while Ruka Hirano led a Japanese medal sweep in the men’s. Olympic women’s champ Zoi Sadowski Synnott (NZL) won the women’s Slopestyle on Sunday.? In the World Cup Snow Cross in China, Canadian star Eliot Grondin won both men’s races and Britain’s 2021 World Champion, Charlotte Bankes, swept the women’s events.?

Speed Skating: American star Jordan Stolz was on home ice for the ISU World Cup in Milwaukee and won the men’s 500, 1,000 and 1,500 m races to run his World Cup win streak to 19. But he was finally stopped by Japan’s Tatsuya Shinhama on Sunday.? The Dutch women won five events, with sprinter Femke Kok taking two golds.?
